Grease stars reunite to support Australian bushfire relief.
Olivia Newton-john, who is battling breast cancer for the third time, appeared at the 17th annual G’day USA dinner in LA to support recovery efforts for the Australian bushfires. The January 25 appearance comes after the 71-year-old actress and singer revealed that her cancer tumours have reduced. “My tumours are receding or they’re going away or they’re staying the same. On a Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, that’s pretty amazing. I don’t see it as a battle; I am winning,” the Aussie actress told the Herald Sun. Despite Olivia previously stating she didn’t think much of Grease 2, the actress who played Sandy in the first film was pictured hanging out with Michelle Pfeiffer at the event. Michelle played Stephanie in the sequel and she showed her love for Olivia on an Instagram post, featuring the pair holding hands and embracing closely. Her caption read: “Look who I ran into last night – the original Pink Lady.”

KELLY & JOHN’S $ 635 MILLION DIVORCE RIDDLE Woman’s Day (Australia)
3 Feb 2020
Kelly Preston jalouse d'Olivia Newton-John ? ... oui bien sur on y croit ... :-)
Kelly is concerned about John’s friendship with his Grease co-star Olivia. Abeloved family mansion shared by Kelly Preston and hubby John Travolta in Brentwood, LA, was quietly sold in an off-market deal last weekend – prompting surprise among their inner circle. “They loved that place. It’s been their home for almost 20 years,” says a source. “It’s a strange move for John to make, but added to rumours lately that their marriage isn’t exactly happy – it makes sense.” Making matters more concerning for Kelly is John yet again declaring his feelings for Grease co-star Olivia Newton-john at the annual G’day USA gala on the same day their pad was sold for $26.6 million. “We love each other,” he revealed on the red carpet of his friendship with Olivia, 71. “We are going to rekindle our rapport tonight.” Kelly, 57, did not attend the party with her 65-year-old husband of 29 years. This comes just months after he and Olivia reunited in Florida at a “Meet n Grease” event. “Kelly is sick of John rubbing her face in his friendship with Olivia,” says a friend. “Her and John haven’t been getting on too well lately, and him selling their Brentwood place has people wondering if they’re considering a divorce.”

AUSTRALIA’S biggest names came together for the annual G’Day USA gala in Los Angeles to raise money for bushfire relief. Olivia Newton-John was reunited with her Grease costar and “honorary” Aussie, John Travolta, at the star-studded event, which was also attended by Naomi Watts, Delta Goodrem, Jacki Weaver, Mortal Kombat’s Jessica McNamee and Adelaide’s Hugh Sheridan. “This one feels extra special because it’s not just patting each other on the back, it’s helping the whole country,” says Olivia, above, who walked the blue carpet with hubby John Easterling and niece Tottie Goldsmith.
John says he wants Americans to know it’s still okay for people to go to Australia. “We’ve got Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne. People can still visit. It’s still a beautiful country,” he says. The gala came after Olivia revealed her cancer tumours have shrunk, and she plans to return to the stage at the Fire Fight Australia benefit in Sydney on February 16.
It’s been 40 years since Olivia Newton-John, 69, and John Travolta, 64, joined forces to play good girl Sandy and bad boy Danny in 1978’s Grease. Together they made movie history (the film earned almost $400 million worldwide) and also launched a friendship that has lasted four decades.
“We did something life-changing, making that film,” Newton-John tells PEOPLE. “[At the premiere] you got the feeling from the energy that something was happening. It was a huge response. I feel grateful to be a part of that and to have worked with him. We’ve stayed friends ever since.”
To mark the occasion, Paramount recently released a 40th anniversary DVD edition of Grease, which includes a fully restored version of the film and bonus features.
Travolta, who was just 23 when he starred in the film, says he and Newton-John have been by each other’s side through the best and worst times of their lives. The actor wed actress Kelly Preston in 1991 and is dad to Ella Bleu, 18, and Benjamin, 7; their oldest son Jett died of a seizure in 2009. While Newton-John, who has been married to John Easterling since 2008 and is the mom to Chloe, 32, revealed last spring that she was battling
breast cancer again after first being diagnosed in 1992.
