Un concert de neuf heures a débuté vers 13h dimanche à Sydney au stade ANZ. Les bénéfices de l'événement iront à la Croix-Rouge locale, aux pompiers et aux victimes des incendies qui ont ravagé le pays.
Les organisateurs ont pu réunir pour l'occasion des têtes d'affiche telles que Queen + Adam Lambert, Alice Cooper, Michael Bublé, Ronan Keating, Olivia Newton-John et tant d'autres artistes australiens. Le show est présenté par la comédienne déjantée Celeste Barber. Les 70.000 tickets d'entrée, vendus entre 70 et 100 dollars, se sont écoulés en prévente en seulement quelques heures. Plusieurs personnalités se sont mobilisées ces derniers mois face à la catastrophe, afin de récolter de l'argent pour les victimes. Earth Alliance, l'organisation environnementale de Leonardo DiCaprio par exemple, a rassemblé 3 millions de dollars. Elton John, Chris Hemsworth, Kylie Jenner, Pink, Kylie Minogue et Metallica ont aussi fait des dons. (Belga)

Olivia Newton-John admits she never wanted to perform again - before being given the chance to sing with John Farnham at Fire Fight Australia !

Olivia Newton-John is set to hit the stage on Sunday night to do a duet with John Farnham at Fire Fight Australia.
But the 71-year-old has revealed to The Daily Telegraph that until the charity concert to support bushfire relief came along, she wasn't planning to ever do any more concerts.
'I haven't done a show in two years and I wasn't planning on doing any more, but for this event, and to sing with John, it's just going to be a phenomenal day,' she said.

Olivia Newton-John devrait monter sur scène dimanche soir pour chanter un duo avec John Farnham au Fire Fight Australia.

Mais elle a révélé au Daily Telegraph que jusqu'à ce que le concert de charité pour soutenir les secours contre les feux de brousse se produise, elle n'avait pas l'intention de faire plus de concerts. "Je n'ai pas fait de spectacle depuis deux ans et je n'avais pas l'intention d'en faire plus, mais pour cet événement, et pour chanter avec John, ça va être une journée phénoménale", a-t-elle déclaré.

Ça sent donc la retraite musicale !! Plus de concerts .. pas de projet de disque en mode solo .. pas de ré éditions, surtout pas ... 
On se contentera de sa prochaine reprise en duo avec Barry Gibb et son cameo dans le nouveau film de Paul Hogan ... 
Désormais toute son énergie sera pour sa gamme de produits de beauté et ses actions en faveur de son centre de Cancer et de Bien-être australien ! J'aimerai être contre-dit .. mais j'ai peur d'avoir un peu raison ...

Il y avait foule et quelques célébrités, amis de la star pour cet événement : Richard Marx , Leeza Gibbons , Nigel Lythgoe ou Randal Kleiser le réalisateur de GREASE !

L'artiste, n'avait d'yeux que pour son mari John sur le tapis rouge, car ils ont partagé une très jolie démonstration devant les caméras... ( à quand la sextape ! ) Paraissant heureuse et en bonne santé malgré son combat actuel contre le cancer, Olivia s'est fendu d'un baiser passionné avec sa moitié.

La protagonista de Grease está viviendo una larga batalla contra el cáncer, pero eso no le impide cada año participar en The WellnessWalk and Research Run,una carrera que organiza su propia fundación para conseguir fondos y luchar contra el cáncer. En esta ocasión la carrera se celebró en Melbourne y allí vimos a Olivia Newton-John junto a su hija, Chloe Lattanzi, y su marido, John Easterling. “Este evento es tan especial para mí; siempre subestimo el número de gente que se me une para apoyar la lucha contra el cáncer. Estoy emocionada de ver cada año que el evento crece”, dijo Olivia.

LO QUE LE FUNCIONA

“Estoy aquí, viva y sana”, ha explicado la actriz al 10 Daily. También animó al uso terapéutico del cannabis para enfermos de cáncer:“Este año, gracias al tratamiento y a la marihuana terapéutica, me siento genial”.“Espero que se pueda ofrecer pronto a todo el mundo; ese es mi sueño”, añadió.

Olivia tiene un cáncer de mama en etapa 4 que le fue diagnosticado hace poco, pero ya se había enfrentado a esta enfermedad en dos ocasiones anteriormente. Desde entonces, la actriz lucha porque el uso de la marihuana terapéutica se extienda, porque a ella le está funcionando: “Fue algo instantáneo. Sentí un gran cambio en mi movilidad y alivio del dolor.Y me sacó de la morfina, que es algo muy serio”.

OLIVIA Newton-John is calling for medicinal cannabis to be available to cancer patients worldwide.

The Grease star, 71, who has been using the drug for years in her fight with breast cancer, stepped up her crusade at a charity walk.

Olivia – diagnosed with the disease for the third time in 2017 – told the crowd in Melbourne, Australia: “I’m right here, right now, alive and healthy.
Through treatment and medicinal cannabis, I am feeling fantastic. Medical cannabis has helped me incredibly, with pain, with sleep, with anxiety. I feel wonderful.”

The four-time Grammy winner added that it was her dream for it to be available to all cancer patients.

Olivia was joined on Sunday by husband John Easterling, 71, and daughter Chloe Lattanzi,33, for the Wellness-Walk and Research Run.

It raises money for the pioneering medical institution she founded seven years ago in the Australian city – where she is now being treated herself.The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre trials ground-breaking medicines and holistic therapies.

Its specialist medics collaborate with researchers around the world to develop new treatments and clinical research into the medical benefits of cannabis.

Olivia, who was born in Cambridge before emigrating to Australia aged five, was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992.
She had a partial mastectomy and chemotherapy and was disease-free until 2013 when the cancer returned.

The actress and singer again appeared to beat it until 2017.

Medicinal cannabis was made legal in England last November, but the NHS states that “very few people” are likely to get a prescription.
