C'est un 16 août 1977 que le King Presley nous a quitté ..
Le roi est mort, vive le roi. Le 16 août 1977, Elvis Presley est victime d’une crise cardiaque. On a parlé d’une overdose de drogue, d’un assassinat, mais est-on bien sûr qu’Elvis soit mort ce jour-là ? Selon la version officielle, Elvis est retrouvé inanimé par Ginger Alden sa compagne. Des proches, puis les secours tentent de le réanimer en vain. Son décès est constaté à l’hôpital. L’autopsie révèle la présence de nombreux médicaments dans son sang. Le 18 août, sa dépouille est exposée au public à Graceland, 100 000 personnes parmi ses plus grands fans lui rendent un dernier hommage. 100 000 témoins c’est beaucoup. Et pourtant, un des tout premiers témoins vient semer le doute. C’est Louise Smith, une cousine très proche du King, qui n’est pas certaine d’avoir vu Elvis dans le cercueil : "Je n'en suis pas sûre parce que ses mains étaient toutes fines alors qu'Elvis avait des mains plutôt épaisses et caleuses sur le côté car il cassait des briques au karaté. Alors j'aimerais bien le savoir, mais je ne le sais pas." Cet homme ressemblant à Elvis qui achète un billet d’avion pour l’Argentine sous le nom de John Burrows, un nom de code que le chanteur donnait souvent, un million de dollars ont disparu du compte de la star sans explication juste avant sa mort, des bijoux et effets personnels sont introuvables depuis sa mort. Et un mobile: Elvis ne supportait plus la célébrité. Quelle meilleure solution de se faire passer pour mort ?Et des preuves vie ? En voulez-vous ? Régulièrement des photos, floues, d’hommes ressemblant vaguement à Elvis sont publiées. ll y aussi cette auteur qui diffuse une conversation téléphonique avec Elvis dans les années 1980. Des fans qui refusent l’évidence. Tous les arguments pour une bonne rumeur. Mais Elvis est bien mort le 16 août 1977, l’autopsie de son corps ne laisse aucun doute. La business de sa survie a été florissant. Mais pour l’immense majorité de ses fans, si le coeur du King a cessé de battre ce jour d’août 1977, son oeuvre reste immortelle. Et ça, ce n’est pas une rumeur.
Le 16 août 2018, le monde de la musique perdait une de ses plus belles voix. Aretha Franklin était retrouvée morte à son domicile de Détroit, à l’âge de 76 ans. La célèbre chanteuse, surnommée « Lady Soul », succombait alors à un cancer neuroendocrinien pancréatique contre lequel elle se battait depuis plusieurs années.
Et le 16 août c'est aussi une naissance .. celle de the Queen Of Pop .. Madonna ! 61 ans ! Madonna se prépare pour sa prochaine tournée, intitulée « Madame X Tour ». Et afin d’apparaître parfaitement en forme pour ses shows, la Queen of Pop ne lésine pas sur les entraînements. Elle a récemment publié une vidéo sur Twitter qui le prouve bien… La Madone est en forme !

STAR Olivia Newton-john beams as she returns to the red carpet in LA and gets a big hug from actress pal Jane Seymour.
The Grease legend, 70, was stepping out for the first time since opening up about her third battle with breast cancer.
She recently revealed the disease is stage four – meaning that her chances of recovery are very slim.
But she looked happy and glamorous as she collected a lifetime achievement gong at the Industry Dance Awards and Cancer Benefit Show at the Avalon Hollywood club.
And she said: “I just want everyone to know, I’m here, I’m doing great. I’m doing really well and I’m really healthy.
“It was a challenging year because I broke my sacrum and I had to learn to walk again and everything. “But I am strong and I am back and I’m feeling good and loving every minute.”
Olivia, who has daughter Chloe Lattanzi, 33, won her first fight with cancer in 1992.
She revealed her latest blow in November – five years after her second ordeal.
Olivia said she had decided it was better for her mental health if her doctors did not tell her how long she had left. Earlier this month, she said: “When you’re given a cancer diagnosis, you are suddenly given a possibility of a time limit.
“If you believe the statistics, you’re going to make them happen. If somebody tells you, ‘You have six months to live’, very possibly you will, because you believe that.”

GREASE icon Olivia Newton-John and her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, broke down when talking about the brave star’s “incurable” stage IV breast cancer that’s roared back for a third time!
The 70-year-old You’re the One That I Want songbird thought she was in the clear after battling the savage disease in 1992 and again in 2013. However, a tumor was discovered in her lower spine in 2017.
Choking back tears, Chloe, 33, the singer’s daughter with first hubby, actor Matt Lattanzi, revealed she was “angry” and “in denial” when she learned about the disease’s return.
She says they avoid talking about it to avoid making it a “bigger” deal in their relationship.
“If she’s having a day where she needs to talk about it, I’m there to listen,” says Chloe. “I’ll never bring it up unless she wants to.”
Docs haven’t forecasted how long her mom has to live and Chloe says: “For me, it’s better not to have any ideas of what they expect.”
But Prof. Jonathan Cebon, who works with the singer’s Olivia Newton-John Cancer Research Institute in Melbourne, Australia, grimly notes the cancer is “in her bones” and “not curable.”
She currently uses marijuana grown in the backyard of the Santa Barbara home she shares with hubby John Easterling to help with pain.
“I’m doing really well,” insists the courageous actress, who is an inspiration to other cancer patients. “I’m thriving.”

Olivia Newton-John a déclaré qu'une partie de l'argent irait aux "programmes de bien-être" du centre, qui incluent "la méditation et le yoga, les thérapies de groupe, la musicothérapie et l'acupuncture", entre autres choses, et "l'autre moitié ira à la recherche".
"C'est comme ça que nous le faisons et c'est merveilleux. C'est merveilleux d'avoir une passion", a-t-elle ajouté.
"Chaque jour est un cadeau, nous ne savons pas vraiment combien de temps dure notre vie", a-t-elle déclaré. "Je suis très reconnaissante et j'ai l'intention d'être ici pendant longtemps. J'ai encore beaucoup à faire."

"I just want everyone to know, I'm here, I'm doing great," Newton-John, 70, told ET's Keltie Knight at the star-studded event. "I'm doing really well and I'm really healthy."
"It was a challenging year because I broke my sacrum and I had to learn to walk again and everything," she continued. "But I am strong and I am back and I'm feeling good and loving every minute."
Newton-John was one of the night's guests of honor at the celeb-packed Industry Dance Awards & Cancer Benefit Show, where she received a Lifetime Achievement Award, and was presented with a donation for the Cancer Wellness & Research Center in Australia.
"It's such an honor, and I am so grateful to receive that amazing check for my cancer wellness center," Newton-John marveled. "That it will help so many people with the programs to support them going through their cancer journey."
Newton-John said some of the money will be going to the center's "wellness programs" which include "meditation and yoga and group therapies and music therapy and acupuncture" among other things, and "the other half will be going to research."
"That's how we do it and it's wonderful. It's wonderful to have a passion," she added.
