Une chanson douce

La chanson douce de cette matinée, composé par Joe Henry et John Jarvis et rendu célèbre par John Denver en 1990.

Olivia Newton-John avait initialement enregistré cette petite ballade pour son album Warm & Tender en 1989.

En 1999, elle nous fera la surprise de la réinterpréter sur la scène du Taj Mahal d'Atlantic City.

Facts

Olivia Newton-John is one of the few female Superstars in the United States today.

She got her real break into the business with Musicals like Grease and Xanadu.

This December the newest movie of the "Perfect Pair" Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta debuts in american theatres.

The Film will see a european release in Spring 1984.

The Soundtrack of "Two of a kind" sees a worldwide release in November 1983 showing participation of her longtime producer Steve Kipner (we know better that he is a songwriter !) and Earth, Wind & Fire Producer David Foster.

Together with Foster she produced 4 songs on the Album.
Twist of fate is the new single, which charted on position 32 three weeks after its release.

YouTube est un vrai bonheur quand on réalise qu'on continue encore à découvrir de jolies perles inédites grace au partage de chacun.
Ici, c'est une version live de "The Flower That Shattered The Stone" par John Denver & Olivia Newton John.
C'était en 1991 lors du symposium de la fondation WINDSTAR.

Cette fondation a été créée en 1976 par John Denver et le maître d'aikido Tom Crum afin d'éduquer, inspirer et d'habiliter les enfants et les adultes à faire des choix responsables pour un environnement sain et durable.



Cette chanson a d'abord été chantée par Olivia sur son album "Warm and Tender", en 1989, album écrit pour sa fille Chloé, qui avait alors 3 ans.
En 1988, c'est Olivia, alors enceinte - mais qui malheureusement fera une fausse couche -qui avait demandé à Joe Henry d'écrire une chanson pour cet album dit de berceuse, parenthése profonde dans son répertoire mais merveille d'interprétation.



Joe Henry écrira ainsi les paroles de "La Fleur qui a brisé la pierre". John Jarvis, auteur-compositeur, écrira la musique. John Denver, ami très proche de Joe Henry, rêvait d'unir le monde avec cette chanson, avant de mourir. "The Flower that Shattered the Stone" sera d'ailleurs le titre du 22ème album de John Denver, album dans lequel il reprend la chanson.

C'est l'occasion aussi de revoir monter sur scène une toute jeune et timide Chloé, alors meilleure fan de Joe Henry, loin de ses influences musicales actuelles.
