10 ANS DEJA ...

 Le temps passe bien vite .. trop vite !! Cela fait 10 ans déjà qu'Olivia Newton-John avait décidé de donner quelques concerts à travers le Royaume Uni ! 

Celui du ROYAL ALBERT HALL fut mémorable !! 

En tout cas il le fut pour moi à bien des niveaux !! Je me suis senti tout petit près de cette grande dame !! .... ses yeux, son sourire .. elle m'a donné le change pour les bêtises que je lui disais backstage ! Et elle a été d'une grande générosité pour tous ses fans ... qui l'attendaient dehors !

Olivia Newton-John’s daughter made a promise to her mother before she died -- and she plans to keep it.

Chloe Lattanzi and Newton-John’s widower, John Easterling, sat down for a pre-taped interview with Today’s Hoda Kotb, which aired on Friday, March 3. 

The 58-year-old newswoman has been noticeably absent from live segments of the NBC morning show for more than a week. Kotb's co-anchors shared earlier this week that she is "OK," but is dealing with "a family health matter," and during Friday's episode, Sheinelle Jones introduced Kotb's interview saying her co-anchor "recently" spoke to Newton-John's family. 

Lattanzi told Kotb she will return to Newton-John’s native Australia in October for the singer’s annual Walk for Wellness, an event that brings people together to support those with cancer.

Pink : son touchant hommage à Olivia Newton-John lors des American Music Awards

C’est l'une des cérémonies les plus attendues aux États-Unis. Ce dimanche 20 novembre, les American Music Awards se sont déroulés à Los Angeles.  

Cette édition a notamment été marquée par un très bel hommage. En effet, durant la cérémonie, Pink a tenu à honorer la mémoire d’Olivia Newton-John qui est décédée en août dernier d’une très longue bataille contre le cancer. La chanteuse a donc interprété le morceau  « Hopelessly Devoted To You », issue du film « Grease ».

Avant la prestation émouvante de Pink, la chanteuse Melissa Etheridge a également tenu à dire quelques mots sur Olivia Newton-John : « Dès que vous étiez en présence d'Olivia Newton-John, vous sentiez sa douceur, vous étiez impressionné par sa beauté accueillante et vous aviez l'impression qu'elle ne se connectait qu'avec vous. » 

Un moment très touchant donc sur la scène des American Music Awards. 

Cette édition ne pouvait pas ne pas rendre hommage à la star de « Grease » puisqu'au cours de sa carrière elle a remporté plus d’une dizaine de trophées lors de cet événement. La disparition d'Olivia Newton-John avait ému des millions de personnes à travers le monde, dont de nombreuses stars qui n’avaient pas hésité à lui rendre hommage sur les réseaux sociaux. 

Avant sa performance, PINK a déclaré à Entertainment Tonight: « Elle était une icône absolue, et aussi, elle était un être humain merveilleux. J’aimais sa voix. Ma fille vient de finir de jouer Grease dans sa production théâtrale, et elle m’a aidé à apprendre la chanson. »

Les ventes de cette version avaient pour but d'alimenter les fonds de reconstruction du Japon après la tragédie du tremblement de terre et du tsunami. Le titre avait été ré-enregistré au japon !

Dans la série "ces légendes que Hollywood a mises de coté"

Un jour à New York (1949), Un Américain à Paris (1951), Brigadoon (1954)... Ces films font tous briller Gene Kelly, un acteur qui avait de multiples talents: non seulement il jouait, mais il dirigeait aussi des plateaux et, surtout, il dansait comme pas un ! Quand on pense à ce monstre sacré, on songe avant toute chose aux scènes dans lesquelles il nous a offert des chorégraphies à couper le souffle qui ont fait école au cinéma. Sa plus mémorable performance à l’écran, il nous l’a offerte dans le film Chantons sous la pluie (1952), un véritable chef d’oeuvre! Gene Kelly figure sans conteste parmi les plus grandes légendes hollywoodiennes.

Mais après la période très riche des années 1940, 1950 et même 1960, la décennie 1970 a été plutôt creuse pour l’acteur, qui a ensuite vécu une fin de carrière peu appréciable dans les années 1980... Si Xanadu (1980) a connu un succès commercial, il ne s’agit pas d’un grand film comme ceux auxquels était abonné l’acteur. Il y joue un mécène qui aide le héros à réaliser son rêve d’ouvrir un patinodrôme branché. Fait intéressant: on a offert une belle vitrine à Gene Kelly en lui consacrant une scène de danse qu’il exécute avec Olivia Newton-John.

On a aussi vu la vedette dans un épisode de La croisière s’amuse diffusé en deux parties, originalement en 1984. Il n’était pas rare que la série, qui suivait les hauts et les bas des membres de l’équipage d’un grand navire de croisière, invite en guise de vacanciers des acteurs qui avaient jadis figuré dans les gros génériques. Ursula Andress, Anne Baxter, Leslie Caron, David Cassidy et Mike Connors ont été de ceux-là.

Si la carrière de Gene Kelly a fini un peu «sous la pluie», le célèbre acteur demeure associé à de grandes oeuvres et il scintille au firmament des étoiles que Hollywood a vues briller.

Et nous pouvons souhaiter un joyeux anniversaire à Gene Kelly, né un 23 août 1912 .. pas sur qu'il nous entende ...

45 ans !! ha oui mais j'oublie qu'ONJ ne célèbre pas son passé  avec ses fans... mais nous oui alors HAPPY BIRTHDAY !

La chanson a été écrite par Jeff Barry et Peter Allen !

Fort de ce succès ONJ enregistrera une version française, sans doute pour éviter une reprise avec un artiste bien de chez nous ... mais là .. les frenchies n'ont pas vraiment percuter sur sa version ! et je ne me souviens pas de l'avoir vue en France pour une promo .. même si j'étais très très jeune !
