John Farnham & Olivia Newton-John receive a plaque to commemorate platinum sales of "Friends For Christmas"
It’s taken five weeks to get there, but John Farnham and Olivia Newton-John’s Friends For Christmas (Sony Music) has finally reached No. 1 in Australia.
Friends For Christmas is now platinum certified (70,000 units) after debuting at No. 3 in November. The festive set rises to the top after two weeks at No. 4.
Farnham and Newton-John’s last collaborative album, the live LP Two Strong Hearts, also reached the top spot on the national albums chart for three week, giving the popular pair their second consecutive No. 1 in as many years.

The revelation was made during a joint interview on Tuesday night's episode of The Project, in which John also reminisced about his first festive album more than four decades ago.

OLIVIA Newton-John has nicknamed her favourite singer in the world Bing Farnham.
The latest collaboration between Newton-John and John Farnham, their best-selling Friends For Christmas album, has The Voice singing like you have never heard him before.
The “Bing” moment comes on It’s Beginning To Feel A Lot Like Christmas when Farnham’s vocal is almost unrecognisable.
“I encouraged him to sing low. He was unsure about doing it but he sounds awesome down there. Isn’t it great? A whole different side to him, Bing Farnham,” Newton-John said, laughing.
