In Australia over the weekend, Olivia Newton-John toured the cancer wellness and research center she founded in 2014 and, while doing so, created a joyful moment for a few patients, courtesy of a certain film costume.

Newton-John’s black leather jacket and vintage pants, worn during the final scene in Grease, are among the highlights of the November 2 sale; at right, the cover of the auction catalog, with 200 signed copies available at $300 each to benefit Newton-John’s cancer center.

“We flew the Grease jacket and pants over from America, and several women there who are going through cancer treatment tried on the jacket,” Newton-John tells The Hollywood Reporter. “Their faces just lit up. It was so wonderful to bring people joy with a simple thing like that.”

First diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, Newton-John is in the midst of her third battle with the disease after a lump was discovered at the base of her spine in 2018. But that’s not stopping the four-time Grammy winner from projects that include raising funds for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre, located in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. On Saturday, November 2, in Beverly Hills, the Grease jacket and pants will join roughly 500 other items for “Property From the Collection of Olivia Newton-John,” an auction featuring a variety of costumes, personal and touring wardrobe and other items, with proceeds from approximately 10 percent of the lots – including the Grease jacket and pants – benefiting the cancer center.

Olivia Neutron-John , artiste du label Sister Polygon , change de nom après avoir reçu une lettre de cessation et de désistement de la part de l’équipe juridique d’ Olivia Newton-John .
Olivia Neutron-John, dont le vrai nom est Anna Nasty, a déclaré avoir reçu la lettre avant de publier son premier album éponyme plus tôt cette année.

«Je vais saisir cette occasion pour prendre du recul et me réinventer», a t-elle écrit. «Bien que ce chapitre de ma vie ait été très difficile et émotionnellement clos, je suis enthousiasmé par un nouveau départ. Je serai de retour sous un autre nom. Merci encore pour tout. Cette année a été tellement incroyable. »

The show with Stereolab at Brooklyn Steel was my last show as Olivia Neutron-John. I thought about booking a goodbye show, but I couldn’t have planned a better way to go out. In July, before the record had even been out for two months, I received a cease & desist from Olivia Newton-John’s legal team. Because I have very limited resources, I was unable to fight it. I am going to take this as an opportunity to step back and reinvent. Although it has been very difficult and emotional closing this chapter of my life, I’m excited for a new beginning. Personnellement j'ai trouvé ça tellement étrange d'emprunter ou de détourner le nom d'une autre artiste ... qui plus est celui d'Olivia ! Sachant aussi qu'on la surnommait la Neutron Bomb dans les années 80 ! De plus la musique de Olivia Neutron-John n'est pas un hommage conceptuelle à notre chère tête blonde !
C'est un peu comme si tu prenait un nom de scène à la Whitney De Houston ou Mariah Cramé !
C'était pas très intelligent .. mais n'était ce pas une manière de faire du buzz ?
