... After starting out with “Martini Night” last week, “Cocktail Parties — Live From The Brick Lounge!” on Friday, April 16 includes “'70s & Disco Night” with Olivia Newton-John, Thelma Houston, Maureen McCormick & HGTV Stars.
“It’s like a ‘Tonight Show’ meets a concert meets a cocktail party,” Brickman said. “Maureen McCormick will be on Zoom and talk, while Olivia sings and talks a little bit about our history and our songwriting.
Thelma Houston and I are doing her disco song ‘Don’t Leave Me This Way.’”
As an average kid growing up in the '60s and '70s in Northeast Ohio, Brickman admitted that spending an evening with both the star of “Grease” and a member of “The Brady Bunch” would have blown his teenage self’s mind.
“I had the totally hot Olivia Newton-John poster on my wall and I — of course — watched ‘The Brady Bunch’ when it first aired every Friday night,” Brickman said. “So, yeah, it’s crazy, absolutely crazy.
“I’m actually very close with Olivia because my first national tour was a co-bill with her, which was also at the time the same feeling of ‘You must be kidding me. That’s insane.’”
