Back in time: Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta reunite to dress as lovebirds Sandy and Danny in Palm Beach, Florida.
MORE than four decades after bursting onto the big screen, Aussie sweetheart Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta still go together.

The Grease stars reunited in character yesterday for the first time since the film was made in 1978. Dressed as straight-laced Sandy Olsson and bad-boy Danny Zuko, the pair attended a Meet ‘N’ Grease singalong in West Palm Beach in Florida.

“First time in costume since we made the movie! So excited!!” Newton-John captioned an Instagram photo. Travolta added: “#Grease is still the word.”

The leather jacket she wore at the end of Grease is set to be put on permanent display at her namesake Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in Melbourne.

The jacket was auctioned last month for charity with the anonymous buyer forking out about $354,000 before he gifted the jacket back to his idol.

“This jacket (pictured below) belongs to you and the collective soul of those who love you, those for whom you are the soundtrack of their lives.

“It should not sit in a billionaire’s closet for country club bragging rights,” the anonymous buyer said.

“For this reason I humbly and respectfully return it to its rightful owner, which is you.”

JOHN Travolta and Olivia Newton-John reunite 41 years after starring in Grease. They dressed up as movie lovebirds Danny and Sandy during a Meet n’ Grease sing-along event.

With John now 65 and Olivia 71, they must be the oldest graduates in Rydell High history. Olivia wrote: “First time in costume since we made the movie. So excited.”

The reunion, in West Palm Beach, Florida, came a month after Olivia auctioned her leather jacket for charity for £125,000.

Grease’s director Randal Kleiser reveals 27 things you don’t know about it !

It has been 37 years since Grease came out in the theaters and it is still very popular today. So much so, Paramount Home Media just released a Digital Sing-A-Long version of the beloved musical last week.
For decades, we have been singing along with Danny and Sandy, and now we really get to do it with them any time we want. Not only does the Digital release include the Sing-A- Long version, it also includes several special features like deleted scenes, how the movie was cast, filming some of the movie’s most special moments and interviews with the leads when it came out.

If that is not enough Grease for you, last week I got a tour of some their most iconic locations from the director himself Randal Kleiser.
During the nearly two hour trip down memory lane for us, we visited some of the film’s stages on the Paramount Lot, John Marshall High School where they filmed the final scene and the LA River where Thunder Road went roaring through. Along the way, he revealed many things about the making of the movie that you and I probably didn’t know about until now. Things that any Grease fan would really love to know.

Randal Kleiser ne savait pas si Olivia Newton-John serait capable de faire la dernière scène du film .. car l'image de la sexy Sandy était si loin de celle qu'Olivia véhiculait au quotidien ! 
Il fut rassuré lorsque les équipes de maquillage et des costumes décidèrent de tester le look de Sandy 2 alors qu'ils tournaient la scène du Drive In. 

Carrie Fisher était l'une des premières actrices choisies pour jouer le rôle de Sandy !

Ils ne savaient pas ce qu'ils allaient faire pour "You Are The One That I Want"... jusqu'au jour du tournage. 

Croyez-le ou non, la chorégraphe Patricia Birch n'avait absolument rien chorégraphier pour cette scène jusqu'au jour fatidique.

Building on the success of event-type cinema screenings of operas like Aida and occasional Broadway shows like The Audience, Fathom Events and Turner Classic Movies are planning to screen the sing-along version of the 1978 movie "Grease" in 500 theatres across the U.S. on Aug. 16 and 19, according to Entertainment Weekly.

Titled "Grease Sing-A-Long," the print will include the lyrics to the songs on the screen so audiences that join in, in the style of the "Sing-a-long Sound of Music" that has been presented successfully on ABC TV and elsewhere.

The film will be digitally broadcast twice a day, on the two days listed.

It will be presented as part of a summer series of classic film revivals. EW quoted Jennifer Dorian, GM of Turner Classic Movies, saying, “The series allows us to bring fans another opportunity to engage with classic movies on the big screen from a variety of studios and eras in a way that aligns with our network’s mission to show films the way they were meant to be seen."

The 1978 film which stars John Travolta and Olivia Newton John, was based on the 1972 Broadway musical, which starred Barry Bostwick, Carole Demas and Adrienne Barbeau.

- GREASE Sing-A-Long

By popular demand, the Hollywood Bowl is once again transformed into the world's largest movie theater for the Grease Sing-A-Long Sunday, July 13, 2014. The show, hosted by Didi Conn ("Frenchy"), will feature the Paramount Pictures film, complete with subtitles so the whole audience can sing along.

For the pre-show, rock 'n roll doo-wop legends Sha Na Na will perform a live set starting at 7:30 PM, followed by a short audience warm-up led by Ms. Conn, with the film starting at 8:30 PM. Sha Na Na, cast in the movie as "Johnny Casino and the Gamblers," performed six songs on the Grease soundtrack and the song "Sandy," sung by John Travolta, was co-written by Sha Na Na's piano man Screamin' Scott Simon.

Now a Hollywood Bowl tradition, this family-friendly event will coincide with the 36th anniversary of Grease, the highest grossing musical film of all-time. Directed by Randal Kleiser and based on Jim Jacobs' and Warren Casey's musical of the same name, Grease was released in 1978 by Paramount Pictures to tremendous critical and popular acclaim. The film was nominated for five Golden Globes and an Oscar, and was the winner of the People's Choice Award for Best Musical. Grease stars John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John, Stockard Channing, Jeff Conaway, and Didi Conn.



The GREASE SING-A-LONG is set for Sunday, July 13, 2014 - 7:30 PM Pre-Show; 8:30 PM Film. It all takes place at the Hollywood Bowl, 2301 N Highland Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90068. À la demande générale, le célèbre Hollywood Bowl de Los Angeles sera une fois de plus transformé en un géant écran de cinéma pour une nouvelle diffusion du film GREASE en version Sing-A-Long (que l'on pourrait traduire par Karaoké) le dimanche  13 Juillet 2014. 

Le groupe Sha Na Na interprétera quelques chansons du film GREASE à partir de 19h30, suivie d'une courte audience animée par notre Frenchy adorée aka Didi Conn. Le film sera diffusé à 20h30.
