Alan Carr, producteur de GREASE avait proposé à son actrice fétiche un rôle dans le film CAN'T STOP THE MUSIC ...
OLIVIA a décliné ce rôle pour celui d'une muse dans XANADU ... remplacée presque au pied levé par VALERIE PERRINE ..
Perrine’s role was originally intended for Carr’s Grease star Olivia Newton-John. But she turned him down to star in Xanadu instead. “Allan told me he had this project he wanted me to do,” Newton-John said in a subsequent interview. “It sounded great, but when I read the script, it didn’t feel right, so I declined. And he wasn’t too happy with me.”
The producer then considered Cher, then Raquel Welch, before settling on Perrine.

Semaine du 10 avril 1976, MCA félicitait dans les magazines pro OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN et ELTON JOHN pour avoir remporté respectivement 2 prix de la NARM (National Association of Recording Merchandisers).
OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN était en 1975 l'artiste féminine qui a vendu le plus d'album dans la catégorie POP mais aussi COUNTRY avec son album HAVE YOU NEVER BEEN MELLOW !

Just got my DVD finally.
It’s simply packaged, but I love that Olivia is to see on the back of the cover!
Now I have to check the Bonus DVD. It seems the Interview with Olivia is about 4 Minutes.

Lorsque je lis cet article sur PRINCE et les commentaires qui suivent .. je me dis qu'on ne doit pas attendre grand chose de la part de ceux qui possèdent le catalogue d'ONJ ... et qu'il ne doit pas y avoir grand chose dans leur coffre .. ou personne ne sait quoi faire de son héritage musical !!
Pour moi les dernières sorties sont du "foirage" total ... et je n'aime pas comment on ré écrit l'histoire !

Saluons l'arrivée de l'album SKIN ON SKIN de VANITY (ex égérie Princière ) sur les diverses plateformes de streaming !!
C'est pas un grand album mais il est tellement kitch qu'il donne la pêche !! J'espère voir une ré édition en CD un jour .. aussi !
C'est bien le streaming .. mais toutes les jolies photos qui agrémentaient le vinyle disparaissent ...

The sound sounds much better and is not as overdriven as on the 2012 DVD. Plus it's in stereo. The old DVD only had sound on the left channel for me. The image has also been improved. It’s not HD, but noticeably better. All in all, a good purchase !

Dans le clip, ils rendent hommage aux films "Risky Business" (la scène avec Tom Cruise en chemise, slip et chaussettes), "Grease" et "Isn't Anything" avec John Cusack. Les compagnes des 3 frères jouent aussi dans le clip, dont Sophie Turner en Olivia Newton-John qui danse avec Joe Jonas en John Travolta.

In the opening minutes of Olivia Newton-John: Hopelessly Devoted To You, Olivia (Delta Goodrem) is enthralled. She turns to her Grease co-star John Travolta (George Xanthis) and asks, "How did I get here?"
How indeed? This is the story of Olivia's astonishing rise from the suburbs of Melbourne to international stardom.
"Olivia is an inspiration for generations," Delta, 33, enthuses.
While the Aussie songstress plays the role of Olivia for much of the Channel Seven miniseries, it's rising actress Morgan Griffin who portrays her from the ages of 16 to 22.
Morgan, 25, believes the series captures the honesty and warmth of Olivia, as well as the positive energy the superstar exudes to this day.
"I think she's honest and always true to herself," she tells TV WEEK. "She has this amazing energy, and is so creative and generous – I think that's amazing.
"We all tried to capture that and I think we've done a great job."
Olivia's story starts in Melbourne in the 1960s. The teenager is starting to get noticed thanks to singing on television. She often performed alongside her best friend to this day, Pat Carroll (Georgia Flood).
But on this occasion, she's singing solo on talent show Sing, Sing, Sing. It's a big opportunity for the youngster as she sings the classic, "Anyone Who Had A Heart". Incredibly, Olivia takes out the TV competition.
The prize is the chance to cut a single with the famous Decca Records in London. Olivia is on her way.
Morgan found it a thrill to play the young Olivia and to get to know more about the Aussie icon.
"I'm a really big fan, but I didn't know a lot about the earlier stage of Olivia's career," she says.
"It was exciting to do all the research, learning about the music, her story and the wonderful period that was the 1960s.
"It was just a fun, light and positive energy on set. Olivia was a joy to play."

Allez je vais faire mon gros lourd négatif .. il semble que nous ne soyons pas tous mangés à la même sauce ! Certes la re-colorisation du film par les bons soins de Randal Kleiser est fabuleuse .. les bonus proposés sont sympas ... mais les conditionnements sont différents selon les pays et ça craint !
En France nous n'aurons pas de 40th Anniversary Rydell Yearbook ou autres dvd fantaisistes ! Que c'est triste ! Pas de booklet pour le Blu-ray juste une pub pour aller voir le GREASE MUSICAL ...
Si vous télécharger le film via Itunes vous avez le droit à quelques jolies photos inédites des acteurs ....
... si vous l'acheter en physique .. vous aurez droits de revoir les mêmes qui faisaient la joie des fans sur l'ancienne version ...
mais surtout pas de coffret luxueux pour les 40 ans .. ce qui n'est pas rien ! La fièvre du Samedi Soir a eu droit à son coffret luxueux .. dvd - blu ray +cd remasterisé+ photos + affiche ++++++ ...
Travolta nous a t-il raconté des salades ... ??? C'est vraiment cheap ! Je suis vraiment déçu ! triste anniversaire . pas de 33t ni de B.O retravaillée pour la circonstance ! Je n'imagine même pas les 50 !
