Chloe Lattanzi is feeling electric vibes as she gears up for Sunday’s Olivia’s Walk for Wellness fundraiser.

The annual event, in its 11th year continuing the legacy of her late mother Olivia Newton-John, has a theme this year of Let’s Get Physical – a nod to Olivia’s famous 1981 single.

“It’s a party with a purpose, it feels lighter and exciting and I’ve got my music out to do something so close to her heart,’’ Lattanzi said.

“It really has an electric vibe this time and my mum just loved this day.”

The walk has raised a collective $12m and supported more than 30,000 people through the wellness programs at the Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre (ONJ Centre).

Newton-John’s husband John Easterling will join Lattanzi and thousands of people taking part through

Alexandra Gardens – all are encouraged to don their best ’80s gear and bring along their furry friends.

“We are really opening our arms to the entire city, bring your dogs too, and it should be an extraordinary day,’’ Easterling said.

“These programs, from massages to music therapy, mean so much to so many people and are making a lifechanging difference,” he said.

Lattanzi is visiting the ONJ Centre on Friday.

“I really love going there and the love carries me through,’’ she said.

“It’s so powerful and I feel so overwhelmed with gratitude at how much support and kindness is delivered my way and John’s way,” she said.

“It seems to grow so much, it’s unreal and it was a part of what carried me through some deep, dark times of grief. That’s what my mum was all about – love and light.

State Memorial Service for Dame Olivia Newton-John AC DBE

The livestream of the State Memorial Service for Dame Olivia Newton-John AC DBE will begin at 3:25 pm AEST on Sunday 26 February.

A personal photo tribute from Dame Olivia’s family will be streamed from 3:25 pm.

The photo tribute features images from Dame Olivia’s personal collection and is set to her music. The tribute will be played while guests enter Hamer Hall, Arts Centre Melbourne.

The State Memorial Service will formally begin at 4 pm.

A recording of this livestream will be available to watch on this site until Sunday 5 March 2023.

Olivia Newton-John almost turned down Grease, casting director claims

The movie’s casting director has revealed why Olivia Newton-John “didn’t want” to play the iconic part that made her a household name.

Olivia Newton-John won countless hearts as Sandy in the blockbuster film Grease – but it almost didn’t happen.

“John [Travolta] was set before anybody else was even attached to the movie,” casting director Joel Thurm told Fox News Digital about the 1978 musical.

“Paramount figured that they could do Grease if John was in it. That was a given.”

“John really wanted Olivia for the role of Sandy,” Thurm shared. “We talked about it and I said, ‘It’s a great idea.’ But my problem was to make Olivia work. Olivia did not want to do it initially. She didn’t leap at this opportunity.”

Thurm shared his account of bringing the beloved film to life in a new memoir titled Sex, Drugs & Pilot Season: Confessions of a Casting Director, where he dished on his time in Hollywood.

According to Thurm, the singer was “embarrassed” and “humiliated” over how she came across in a British science-fiction movie she made years before titled Toomorrow. The 1970 film told the bizarre tale of aliens that kidnapped the pop group Toomorrow, whose “vibrations” from their instruments are needed for survival. “She met John and she liked him,” Thurm explained. “She also liked the role of Sandy, but she was really cautious. She said, ‘I was embarrassed by the last movie that I did, and I don’t want that to happen again.’ By this time she’s a huge worldwide star and busy on tour. But we all thought she was perfect, that she was Sandy. So, she said, ‘All right, well, in that case, I’d like a screen test.’ That is the first and only time I’ve ever heard of an actor or actress asking for a screen test.”

SINGER Olivia Newton-John was free of pain and “very clear” of thought in her final days, her widower has revealed as a date for her state memorial is locked in six months after her death.

Husband John Easterling said Newton-John was focused right to the very end on her charity work, helping cancer patients enjoy a better quality of life.

He also released a series of his favourite photos of the couple, which he said gave him strength after the Grease star’s death from cancer at 73.

“She was very clear and very alive and very conscious and not in pain. So there was a quality of life there at that time that I think is so critical,” Mr Easterling said.

“That was part of Olivia’s great contribution with the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre … providing a real quality of life for people was close to her heart.”

Premier Daniel Andrews said a 90-minute “celebration of life” would be held for Newton-John on Sunday, FebruShe ary 26, from 4pm at Melbourne’s Hamer Hall.

“We know Victorians are eager to celebrate the life of a driving force in medical research and an icon of film and music, with a service befitting her international acclaim,” Mr Andrews said.

Speakers will represent her family, her services to entertainment and cancer research and wellness, with video messages from celebrities.

Singer Delta Goodrem, who played Newton-John in a biopic of her life, will perform a medley of the late star’s hits.

The service will be free but ticketed.

The public must register to attend, with ticket registrations open from noon on February 10 to 4pm on February 22.

GREASE is still the word — especially after superstar Olivia Newton-John verballed woke critics who slammed the classic film as misogynist and racist. The backlash to the beloved 1978 movie — which is set in a US high school in the 1950s, and follows the romance between Newton-John’s drab Sandy Olsson and John Travolta’s bad boy Danny Zuko — was sparked after it screened on television in Britain. 

Haters posted their online complaints faster than greased lightning. Some objected to the “Did she put up a fight?” lyric in the hit song Summer Nights, claiming it made light of issues around sexual consent. 

There were also claims of homophobia over a scene in which radio announcer Vince Fontaine says same-sex couples cannot compete in a dance contest. Others bemoaned the lack of racial diversity. “Watched Grease on the BBC, surprised they let it go, full of white people,” one viewer tweeted. 

The film was also accused of “slut-shaming” a key character, Betty Rizzo, played by Stockard Channing. Rizzo was disdained by others for having unprotected sex while promiscuous men were celebrated as macho. But Newton-John, still hopelessly devoted to the hit movie musical, responded to the outcry on the A Life of Greatness podcast. 

“In this particular instance I think it’s kind of silly,” she told podcast host Sarah Grynberg. “The movie was made in the 1970s about the 1950s. It was a stage play, it’s a musical, it’s fun, a fun movie musical, not to be taken so seriously … we need to relax a little bit and just enjoy things for what they are.” Made on a measly $6m budget, Grease has made $396m at the box office. 

In 2020, the film was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” Newton-John said her only concern about the film was playing a teenager. 

 

“I was nervous that I was too old,” she told Parade last year. “Now I look at it and think about how silly that was. It’s all relative. “I was 29 and concerned, but as John Travolta told me at the time, ‘Listen, none of us are teenagers, don’t worry about it’.” The movie was made in the 1970s about the 1950s. It was a stage play, it’s a musical, it’s fun, a fun movie musical, not to be taken so seriously !

OLIVIA Newton-John is moving her cancer research foundation from Melbourne to the US for tax reasons. 

Announcing the shift, the Olivia Newton-John Foundation said many early donations had come from the US. 

 Basing it there would provide those donors with better tax deductions, it said. “The ONJ Foundation received significant and positive public support after a soft launch in October 2020, primarily from USA residents, and Olivia is keen to make sure these donors receive maximum tax benefits,” it said. 

 “The board and operational team have commenced formal shutdown of activities in Melbourne, in accordance with governance standards of the Australian Charities and Notfor-profits Commission.” 

 A spokesman for Newton-John said the US move would ensure it was closer to the singer’s home base in California. “Olivia and her husband, John, have decided to just shift the foundation headquarters to the USA to be closer to home,” the spokesman said. Newton-John was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer in 2017. .

I HAVE always coped with difficult times by believing that “this too will pass”.

I know that this quarantine can be extremely hard and frightening — but as difficult as it is, the belief needs to be that these tough measures have purpose — to see an end to this pandemic. I always think of my parents who lived through World War II and for years had rations and daily fear of the enemy — our enemy is invisible, which creates extra stress, and fear of the unknown is always the hardest.

I choose to believe that good will come out of this time — we have a chance to reconnect with our families, our pets and ourselves — an opportunity that we rarely have in our busy lives. A time to be grateful for the simplest things — like the song goes, the best things in life are free. We can help ourselves by making sure we have sufficient vitamin D, C and zinc. I am thinking of all my Aussie family and sending love and light and patience — for this too will pass.

DAME OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN (AC, DBE) is a Grammy-award winning singer/songwriter and actor who has sold over 100 million albums and had five US No 1 singles. She is also a fierce advocate for cancer research and since her first diagnosis of breast cancer in 1992 has raised over $200 million to open the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness in her home city of Melbourne in 2013.

Woman's Day a appris que la courageuse chanteuse australienne a commencé à enregistrer ses souvenirs pour permettre aux fans d'entendre la vérité sur sa vie avec ses propres mots. «Elle passe des heures enfermée dans son bureau avec un enregistreur vocal. C'est un peu décousu en ce moment, mais elle a hâte de tout remettre en ordre», dit une source.
«C'est un passe-temps depuis qu'elle a remporté sa première bataille contre le cancer, mais ces derniers temps, elle a pris une vie propre. Elle a des enquêteurs qui recherchent des bandes sonores et des transcriptions d'anciens enregistrements de sa vie. "


Franchement qui peut croire ces conneries ! Elle a bien mieux à faire que d'attiser à nouveau un feu qu'elle n'a jamais allumé ! 

A croire que Woman's Day n'a vraiment rien d'autres désintéressant à ce mettre sous la dent et personnellement si c'était vrai je ne serai pas candidat pour ce genre d'histoires si personnelles et si vraiment elle a très envie de faire plaisir à ses fans de la première heure elle devrait commencer à travailler son héritage musicale de son vivant  !
