Le 4 novembre prochain UMBRELLA ENTERTAINMENT sortira un nouveau DVD dans la série Bandstand Presents !
Surfant sur le succès récent du concept TWO STRONG HEARTS TOUR, Umbrella propose de redécouvrir quelques pépites des jeunes années de John Farnham et d'Olivia Newton-John à la TV australienne dans le cadre des émissions "Bandstand".
Concernant ONJ, on peut rester un peu sur notre faim puisqu'il était possible de trouver ses prestations dans d'autres DVDs réalisés précédemment ... et autre petite coquille .. Love Never Dies et Here There & Everywhere sont en fait la même chanson ...

SYNOPSIS

Created by TCN-9 executive Bruce Gyngell, Bandstand was hosted by the ever-charming Brian Henderson and set the TV standard for 14 entertaining years, showcasing the very best of Australian and international Pop and Rock'N'Roll music of the 60s and 70s.

Celebrating two of the Australia’s most popular singers Johnny Farnham and Olivia Newton-John, this special presentation features a selection of early studio performances from the Bandstand vault including: Farnham’s classic track ‘Sadie (The Cleaning Lady)’ (1967), as well as ‘In My Room’ (1967), ‘Miss Elaine E.S Jones’ (1968), ‘The Old Bazaar in Cairo’ (1968), ‘Friday Kind of Monday’ (1968) and ‘Underneath The Arches’ (1968). From Olivia Newton-John: ‘Love Never Dies’ (1968), ‘Today’ (with Pat Carroll) and ‘Here There & Everywhere’ (1969).

1970 : ONJ avec Chris Slade retenu parmi 300 comédiens pour composer l'un des membres du groupe TOOMORROW..en tant que batteur. Il sera très vite remplacer par Karl Chambers avant le tournage du film.
Chris Slade rejoindra le groupe AC/DC !

Hough is playing Sandy in Fox's upcoming live version of Grease, so meeting the woman who played her in the 1978 musical must have been pretty surreal. Newton-John turned up to help judge Dancing With the Stars this week, a totally fitting challenge, since the theme was about iconic movie and music video dances.

Julianne Hough : My favorite moment on Dancing With The Stars last night was… hmmmmm let me think about it… what could it be?? OH YEAH — OLIVIA NEWTON-JOHN (AHHHHHHH!) I was incredibly honored to sit next to Olivia (can I call her Olivia?) at the judges table.

Grease has been my favorite musical since always! It actually inspired me to become an entertainer. I’m still pinching myself over the fact that I have the opportunity to play Sandy in Grease Live on Fox on January 31.

You can imagine how surreal it was sitting beside her. I’ll always remember last night!

Two Aussie Icons Battle It Out In The US Chart

Two dance tracks that feature Olivia Newton-John and Kylie Minogue are battling it out in the US Billboard Charts.

DJ duo Nervo’s The Other Boys, which features Minogue as well as Jake Shears of Scissor Sisters fame and revered producer/musician Nile Rodgers is sitting at #5 on the influential Dance Club Play charts, with Dave Aude’s You Had To Believe, featuring Olivia Newton-John and daughter Chloe Lattanzi, fighting to surpass it, at #6.

Aude's song revisits Newton-John's 1980 hit Magic which was lifted from the soundtrack to her film Xanadu.

Nervo’s single has spent six weeks in the US charts, jumping from #8 to #5 in the past week, with You Have To Believe shifting from #10 to #6 after five weeks in the charts.

Minogue has had 12 #1s on the Dance Club Play charts, with Nervo having one, while Olivia Newton-John and Chloe Lattanzi have none.

If The Other Boys climbs its way to the top, it puts Minogue equal eighth for most number ones in this chart, tied with Whitney Houston, Lady Gaga and Enrique Iglesias. Madonna holds the record with 46 #1s.

Melbourne-born sisters Miriam and Olivia Nervo started collaborating at an early age, quickly moving to London where they now reside, producing pop electro and progressive house and perform with the lives of David Guetta, while Moonshine Music co-founder Dave Aude is house DJ who has been in the scene since the early ‘90s.

The star was joined on stage by a host of celebrities, including Olivia Newton John and Paul O’Grady, who gushed to the audience about Sir Cliff’s legendary career, which has now spanned six decades.
At one point Miss Newton John led a chorus of Happy Birthday, prompting the audience into an enthusiastic sing-a-long.
Tributes from artists such as Sir Elton John, Queen guitarist Brian May and comedian Jimmy Tarbuck were broadcast through a television screen at the back of the stage, with many praising the star’s longevity and huge chart success.

Sir Cliff and Miss Newton John, 67, have been friends for many years. He even helped launch her career
