The LIV ON project was conceived out of the desire to transform my grief into healing. My sister, Rona had just died of glioblastoma and I was suffering greatly from her sudden death. I’ve always turned to music to process my emotions and help heal my heart.
So to help me write and record a special song in memory of Rona, I asked longtime friend and extremely talented singer-songwriter Amy Sky, for support. Amy had already co-written and produced my “Grace and Gratitude” album, which was a recording that marked a previous tumultuous passage in my private life.
Ironically, Amy was also coping with loss. Her father had died of Parkinson’s disease and her mother had recently passed away from cancer. She helped me finish and record Rona’s song and I sent it to my family and friends as a way of sharing my feelings about her loss. I’ve always found it easier to do this through music.

Il n'est jamais trop tard pour trouver l'amour. C'est souvent quand on s'y attend le moins que l'amour nous tombe dessus. Ce n'est pas Olivia Newton-John qui dirait le contraire. L'inoubliable interprète de Sandy dans le film culte Grease a rencontré l'âme soeur à 59 ans.
L'actrice aujourd'hui âgée de 68 ans s'est confiée au magazine People sur son heureuse idylle, quelques années après que son précédent mari Patrick McDermott a mystérieusement disparu. Un épisode "traumatisant" pour la star australienne, d'autant plus que son étrange disparition n'a jamais été tirée au clair. Certains affirment en effet que l'homme déclaré mort serait en fait bien vivant, au Mexique.
Olivia a heureusement pu compter sur le soutien de son amoureux John Easterling pour remonter la pente. "Le plus dur, c'est de ne pas savoir, mais j'ai de la chance d'avoir un merveilleux mari qui est aimant et formidable. Je dis toujours à mes amis qu'il n'est jamais trop tard pour trouver l'amour de sa vie. J'ai rencontré le mien alors que j'allais sur mes 60 ans", a-t-elle récemment déclaré au magazine américain.
Le couple s'est rencontré lors d'un séjour en Amazonie courant 2008 et s'est marié dans la foulée lors d'une cérémonie privée. "On s'est fréquenté quelque temps mais je ne m'attendais pas à tomber amoureuse et de lui, puis finalement... Il est super intelligent et plein de compassion. Il dit oui à tout, il dit oui à la vie", a-t-elle ajouté. Un soutien de taille pour la blonde qui a longtemps lutté contre le cancer.
Forte de cet amour, Olivia Newton-John a su faire face à la maladie et s'est aussi réfugiée dans la musique pour panser ses plaies, les siennes ou celles de ses proches puisqu'elle a perdu sa soeur Rona, emportée par un cancer du sein, il y a trois ans. "La musique m'a toujours beaucoup aidée, elle ouvre des portes aux gens pour communiquer ce qui est nécessaire pour guérir", a-t-elle précisé. La passion de son mari l'aide aussi beaucoup : "Il est passionné par la botanique et soigne les gens avec les plantes. On le surnomme Amazon John, il est formidable." On veut bien la croire.

Olivia Newton-John sera une hôtesse hors pair pour la promotion des vins Pink & Blue For Two le 10 octobre prochain à Grand Rapids dans l'état du Michigan, en tout bien tout honneur, dans le cadre de la détection précoce du sein pour le rose et de la prostate pour le bleu !
GRAND RAPIDS, MI -- Shopping in the wine section at the Cascade Meijer might feel a little surreal next week when Olivia Newton-John is hanging out there.
The singer and actress will be talking to customers for a few hours about a new line of wine, Pink & Blue for Two.
Newton-John is slated to be at the Grand Rapids area store, at 5531 28th St SE, from 2-5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 10.
She is the spokesperson for the line of chardonnay and cabernet sauvignon, which will benefit breast and prostate cancer awareness, early detection and wellness efforts.
Meijer is the first retailer to carry the wine brand, that will be on the shelves in each of its 230 stores across six states.
The cause is personal for the entertainer best known for her co-starring role with John Travolta in "Grease" in 1978 and the 1981 hit "Let's Get Physical." Beating breast cancer in her 40s changed Newton-John's life. Since her health scare in the 1990s, the entertainer has committed herself to raising awareness about early detection of the disease, which she credits for saving her life.
The wine is a collaboration between the singer and her nephew Emerson Newton-John, a race car driver. The wine is sourced from a Northern California winery.
For every bottle sold, 20 percent will be split evenly between Newton-John's eponymous cancer foundation and the Pink & Blue for Two campaign.
During the visit, Newton-John will talk take photos and sign autographs with customers.

Dans le cadre du Pink October, Olivia Newton-John s'est associé avec l'un des Hard Rock Cafés de Las Vegas pour composer un hamburger australien .. le tout au profit du Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre situé à melbourne en Australie.
Cet hamburger est composé de saumon grillé dans du pain grillé brioché garni de laitue, tomate, oignon rouge, rémoulade de câpres, cresson et servi avec du chou frisé.
Le café sera l'hôte d'un déjeuner privé pour les survivants du cancer du sein.
En outre, tout au long du mois d'Octobre, une partie du produit des ventes du "Aussie Burger" sera redonné au Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Center.
Flamingo headliner singer Olivia Newton-John teams up with Hard Rock Cafe on the Strip on Wednesday in the fight against breast cancer.
The cafe will host a private luncheon for breast cancer survivors featuring Olivia’s signature Pinktober menu item the “Aussie Burger” — grilled salmon on toasted brioche bun topped with lettuce, tomato, shaved red onion, stone ground mustard, caper remoulade and micro watercress and served with kale Caesar side salad.
Proceeds from the luncheon benefit Making Strides Las Vegas as part of Hard Rock Cafe’s 16th annual Pinktober campaign. Additionally, throughout the month of October, a portion of proceeds from “Aussie Burger” sales will be donated to Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Center.
The North Las Vegas Fire Department will park a pink fire truck on the Strip in front of the Hard Rock Cafe all day. Dressed in pink turnouts, the firefighters will encourage supporters and survivors to stop by and sign the truck.
