Who were some of the most influential figures in your early musical life, and how did they inspire your sound? Also, what’s the story behind choosing the name ‘Ferdinand Rennie’?
Ferdinand Rennie: I loved to listen to all Olivia Newton-John songs in the 70’s – and learned a lot from her in the way of breathing, telling stories with a song. In 2012 I had the pleasure to get to know her in person, as my partner Brian, is an international fashion designer, and he made many of her dresses for her wonderful Las Vegas shows, so I had the great pleasure that she gave me some advice – moments I will never forget.
