Shorts are all too often relegated to the confines of summer and/or the beach—think hot pants and Daisy Dukes. Rarely is the summer staple described as ‘chic’. But that hasn’t always been the case. For proof, you only need dial back to the 1950s and the likes of Lauren Bacall, Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy. All three style icons were partial to shorts, with each of them bringing their own unique style to the garment.
