Bradenton, Florida (October 2, 2014) — Manatee Memorial Hospital is proud to announce that singer, songwriter and actress Olivia Newton-John will be this year’s special guest at the annual women’s event on Monday, November 24 at the Renaissance on 9th, 1816 9th Street West, Bradenton. The event, which benefits the Manatee Memorial Foundation, Inc. will also serve as the kick-off for a new women’s health initiative program offered by the hospital called WE — Women Enlightened for Better Health.
Olivia Newton-John, a breast cancer survivor and an advocate for health awareness, is joining forces with Manatee Memorial Hospital on the WE — Women Enlightened for Better Health initiative by stressing prevention through education, health screenings and by providing every member of the program with a complimentary LIV® breast self-exam aid. The LIV is a simple, yet extremely valuable, tool in your personal defense against breast cancer.
The event will run from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. Registration will begin at 4 p.m. along with our interactive exhibit area and gift area. Attendees will have access to complimentary health screenings including heart, vision, hearing, grip, balance, plus much more! There will also be a silent action for everyone to browse and bid on, just in time for the holidays.
At 5 p.m., attendees will be able to choose from four different topics as they attend one of our two sets of concurrent breakout sessions. Each 30-minute breakout session will cover health and well-being topics including heart and breast health, financial wellbeing and other timely health issues chosen for the women of our community. A second set of four breakout sessions begins at 5:45 p.m.
At 6:30 p.m., we will convene in the elegant Turner Ballroom at the Renaissance on 9th for a welcome, an evening meal and words from our special guest, Olivia Newton-John.
