Soul Kiss
Since January last year when Olivia Newton-John signed to Phonogram at MIDEM in Cannes, anticipation regarding her Label debut has risen.
People were expecting a lot from one of the best selling female Artists (100 Million Vinyls items) whose sales include three Grammys.
Now the wait is over: her brand-new Album Soul Kiss finds a release with a chain of true Pop-Jewels.
Her lasting career leaves no doubt that Olivia’s place in the international Showbusiness is assured.
Facing musical competition an established musician like her is able to solidify that position with know-how and great talent.
Olivia still kept growing while evolving her musical way. She keeps open towards new influenes like Rock, Jazz or even R&B Music.
All these keep flowing through her very mature and high-standard Pop Songs that don’t represent any success urged production.
Her longterm friend and producer John Farrar took production responsibility also on Soul Kiss – a varied Album with economically instrumented tracks that let her voice explore new horizons (Overnight Observation), a romantic duet with Carl Wilson (You were great, how was I?), the dreamy Gerry Rafferty composition „The right Moment“ and catchy Dance-Floor tunes like „Toughen Up“.
The first single release "Soul Kiss"shows Olivia Newton-John as a solid Artist, independant from Trends, timeless and with a fluid one can hardly escape.

- La Face B
L'étrange inédit Electric se trouvait en face b du 45 tours SOUL KISS et en bonus sur les compacts Européens et Japonais.
Titre sans doute un peu trop moderne pour son époque ... c'était les années 80 !
