Olivia Newton-John a collaboré avec sa fille Chloe Lattanzi pour faire une nouvelle version de son hit Magic. La star a confié à ET Online qu’elle était heureuse de pouvoir attirer l’attention sur le talent de sa fille.
Olivia Newton-John a fait équipe avec sa fille Chloe Lattanzi pour enregistrer une version modernisée de son hit des années 80, Magic.
Le morceau s’est imposé dans le Top 10 du classement de Billboard et la star de 67 ans était enchantée.
« C’était l’idée de Chloe de refaire Magic, a-t-elle confié à ET Online. Je pense qu’elle a un talent incroyable, elle a une voix magnifique, c’est une compositrice exceptionnelle, j’étais impatiente que les gens s’en rendent compte. C’est une belle opportunité pour moi de dire "Ouais ! Chloe, vas-y !" Et faire une de mes chansons, c’est un véritable délice. »
Les deux femmes ont travaillé avec le producteur Dave Audé sur ce morceau. Chloe a écrit un nouveau paragraphe avec lui et le compositeur australien John Farrar qui a produit et écrit la plupart des hits d’Olivia Newton-John, a laissé la star utiliser les paroles originales et a complété la mélodie qu’elle comptait utiliser.
Pour Chloe, née du premier mariage d’Olivia Newton-John avec Matt Lattanzi, c’était un grand honneur de revisiter une chanson historique de la carrière de sa mère. « C’est très amusant de combiner l’énergie de ma mère et mon énergie, a-t-elle expliqué à la publication. Ça a donné quelque chose de complètement nouveau parce que notre créativité est différente. C’est marrant aussi, parce que ma maman dit qu’elle est de retour dans les classements grâce à moi. C’était un grand compliment. »
Olivia Newton-John a fait de nombreux tubes au cours de sa carrière, dont la chanson Physical en 1981.
La star les reprend dans le cadre de sa résidence à Las Vegas. « J’aime vraiment ce spectacle à Las Vegas et on a prolongé la résidence jusqu’au réveillon, a-t-elle confié. Je sors aussi un nouvel album l’année prochaine, que j’ai fait avec mes amis Amy Sky et Beth Nielsen Chapman, il est fait pour redonner du baume au coeur. C’est très spécial. Je continue à lever des fonds pour le Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre en Australie ! Oh ! Et je suis très heureuse que mon Gaia Retreat and Spa ait gagné le prix du meilleur spa du monde aux World Spa Awards ! »

Olivia Newton-John really needs no introductions.
She was Sandy from “Grease.” She starred in the roller-skating cult classic “Xanadu.” She has won four Grammy Awards. She has sold more than 100 million albums. She is Olivia Newton-John, that charismatic ray of Australian sunshine who kept fans hopelessly devoted for more than five decades.
The 67-year-old entertainer continues to woo audiences with her new Las Vegas show, which started in April 2014. Since taking up residence at the Flamingo, Newton-John has brought in crowds to her “Summer Nights” show and recently extended her stay into January 2016.
The singer also made a return to the Billboard charts – where she had No. 1 hits with songs such as “I Honestly Love You,” “Have You Never Been Mellow” and “Physical” – with the new dance club number “You Have To Believe.” Newton-John is featured on the Dave Aude track along with her daughter, Chloe Lattanzi. The song reinterprets Newton-John’s No. 1 1980 hit “Magic.”
Newton-John spoke with The Modesto Bee via email while back in Australia on a break from her Vegas show.
Q: You landed back on the dance charts for the first time in 20 years with “You Have To Believe,” which also features your daughter. Tell me how that project with David Aude came about and what it was like working together with your daughter.
A: I’m so excited – especially for Chloe, as this is her first Top 20 Billboard hit. Originally, Dave approached me about working together, but Chloe and I had been wanting to work together on a project, so it all just worked out. Chloe wrote some new lyrics to my hit “Magic,” along with a wonderful Australian songwriter named Vassy – and John Farrar let us use the original chorus. People really seem to be loving it, and the music video, too, which we shot in Las Vegas at Share Nightclub and the Neon Museum using some great cameos from different Vegas shows from Jubilee to Chippendales.
Q: What does it mean to you to have her follow in your footsteps?
A: I am really excited for her, but I would be as excited for her no matter what it was she wanted to do. I’ve always known she had all of this talent, and now I get to show the world, “Look, isn’t she fantastic!” It’s really wonderful that as a result of this new song and video there is so much interest in her from production companies and TV networks. In fact, just after the video premiered, she was cast in a new TV film for the Syfy Network, called “Dead 7.” She joins members from N’Sync, the Backstreet Boys and a lot of other music artists and celebrities. They even wrote the role especially for her, so that was wonderful.
Q: You extended your first Las Vegas residency at the Flamingo into January. What has it been like to have the residency, and why did you want to extend it?
A: I’m really loving it. There are so many wonderful places in Vegas and things to do that are beyond just The Strip. My husband and I love to take our dog hiking in Red Rock Canyon and seeing all of the beautiful nature that surrounds Las Vegas. The community is also so wonderful and I’m enjoying being a part of it. As for the residency, it’s wonderful that I can be in one place, sleep in the same bed and, most of all, have the chance to see so many of my fans who come from all over the world to see the show. But what’s really most special for me is that a portion of every ticket sold to the show benefits the wellness programs at my Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre at home in Melbourne, Australia.
Q: Speaking of your residency, you recently teamed with Legends in Concert to find the first Olivia Newton-John tribute artist for the series. What has that experience been like so far, and what are you looking for in a tribute artist? How does it feel reaching tribute artist status?
A: Well, we just launched it, so I haven’t seen any of the submissions yet, but Legends is such a wonderful show with really talented performers, so I’m excited to see who enters the contest. I am just honored that I’ve had so many wonderful songs and hits that people still turn up to hear me sing. Hopefully whoever wins won’t take my place in my own show!
Q: Last year, you released an EP, “The Hotel Sessions,” of some unreleased demos. What made you want to bring those songs out into the light?
A: That album was very special to me as I had spent about 10 years writing and recording songs with my nephew Brett Goldsmith in hotel rooms every time I would go to Australia for an event or visit. Brett is my sister Rona’s son, who I sadly lost a few years ago to brain cancer. She always wanted to have those songs out there. So the CD is really in honor of and dedicated to her.
Q: “Xanadu” recently celebrated its 35th anniversary. What do you think it was about that project that has made it such a cult icon, and did you realize while making it the staying power it would have?
A: First and foremost, the music was fantastic – and I got to dance with Gene Kelly! How many people get to say that? I always say that “Xanadu” was ahead of its time. Kenny Ortega, our choreographer, was really on the cutting edge with all of the street dancing and wonderful specialty performers. The script, on the other hand, needed a lot of work. That being said, it’s become a cult classic, which is really wonderful. A few years ago, they turned it into a very successful Broadway musical that toured the world and is opening in London soon. They really made the show very campy and fun – I thought it was hysterical.
Q: Any interest in getting back into acting?
A: I’m not opposed to it – it would just have to be the right script or project. I would love to do something with my daughter again. We did a few films together when she was younger, and it would be fun to work together again on set of a new project.
Q: Because of your diverse career, you must have a wide breadth of fans, from your acting, music and more. Do you attempt to bridge and address all those interests in your shows?
A: I’ve been very lucky in my career, as I mentioned earlier. I’ve had some wonderful songs and producers, so that really helps. My show is pretty much a musical journey through my career – from my early country hits to the songs from “Grease” and “Xanadu,” as well as “Physical” and songs I think people expect to hear. I also have some new songs that are very personal to me that are just a joy to sing every night.
Q: What can people expect from the live show when it stops here in Modesto?
A: Like I said, it’s a musical journey through my career. Lots of fun (I hope), and we have some audience participation that I don’t want to tell you about as that would ruin the surprise. La chanteuse australienne était à Melbourne pour la marche du bien-être dans les rues d'Ivanhoe pour un parcours de 4,2 km à pied afin de récolter des fonds pour le Olivia Newton-John Cancer & Wellness Centre de la ville.
"Je suis tellement excitée d'être de retour à Melbourne pour une troisième année et conduire la Wellness Walk" a déclaré la star dans un communiqué avant la marche.
"C'est toujours un amusement et une journée inspirante et je suis impatiente de voir les Melburniens soutenir cette cause qui est très chere à mon cœur !"
Elle a ajouté que tout le monde était, «malheureusement, touché par le cancer».
"Ce sont ces programmes supplémentaires comme le yoga et massage combiné avec la médecine conventionnelle qui m'ont vraiment aidé lors de ma propre expérience du cancer" dit-elle.
"Je veux que ce centre puisse continuer à fournir aux patients les meilleurs programmes de traitement, mais aussi la compréhension et la compassion pour assurer leur "voyage" d'une manière aussi positive que cela peut l'être. "
Newton-John a été diagnostiqué d'un cancer du sein en 1992, le même week-end quand son père est mort d'un cancer du foie.
Elle a subi une mastectomie et une reconstruction mammaire partielle, elle est guérie depuis plus de deux décennies.
Le Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness Centre, situé dans l'enceinte de l'Hôpital Austin à Heidelberg, Melbourne, a ouvert en 2013.
Il propose des soins cliniques, des nouvelles technologies et l'accès aux principaux professionnels de la santé et des chercheurs dans le domaine, avec le bien-être au cœur de sa philosophie.

'I'm so excited to be back home in Melbourne for a third year to lead The Wellness Walk,' Newton-John said in a statement before the walk.
'It's always a fun and inspiring day and I'm looking forward to seeing Melburnians support this cause that is very close to my heart!'
She added that everyone was, 'sadly, touched by cancer'.
'It is these additional programs such as yoga and massage combined with conventional medicine that really helped me through my own cancer journey,' she said.
'I want this centre to continue to provide patients with the best treatment programs, but also understanding and compassion to ensure their journey is as positive as it can be.'
Newton-John was diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992 on the same weekend her father died from liver cancer.
She underwent a partial mastectomy and breast reconstruction and has been cancer-free for more than two decades.
The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness Centre, located at the Austin Hospital in Heidelberg, Melbourne, opened in 2013.
It offers cancer clinical care, new technology and access to leading health professionals and researchers in the field, with wellness at the core of its philosophy.

L'album qui n'apporte rien de plus par rapport au DVD se rapproche de la sortie du top 50 ... il a perdu 10 places .. de la 39ème à la 49ème.
Cela fait 14 semaines qu'il est présent dans le classement australien des meilleures ventes d'albums.

AUSTRALIA’S original sweetheart Olivia Newton-John may be 67, but she can’t recall being busier. It seems hard to believe for a woman who achieved mega stardom from the movie Grease and huge success from her album Physical.
But as we sit down in Melbourne, Newton-John has learned she is back in the charts after 23 years.
The remixed and rejigged version of her ’80s hit Magic from the movie Xanadu — which Newton-John recorded as edgy club tune You Have to Believe with daughter Chloe Lattanzi — is in at No. 19 on the Billboard dance club charts this week.
It was her 29-year-old daughter’s idea to write new verses and funk up the airy pop song, and the fact it made an impression on the charts is a little bit of sweet revenge on some reviewers.
Looking fresh and serene as she sits fireside in a boutique hotel, Newton-John is just “thrilled” to have helped Chloe on her performing way.
“I’m really excited for my daughter because I’ve been there (in the charts) before, but I never expected to be there again,” Newton-John says.
“The fact that it was her idea and she wrote the new verse and I never would have done this if it weren’t for her, makes it very special; it’s the first time she’s ever been on the radio and the first time she’s been on a Billboard chart, so to do it with her is the icing on the cake.”

In fact, one of the reasons Newton-John is so loved by Australians may be her grace and staying power in the face of well-publicised adversity. Her passionate fans have never lowered their gaze — as she learns, still, when they pop up in audiences at her hit Vegas residency — and they have seen Newton-John travel an eventful path.
What does this loved artist — who launched it all from Melbourne — think is the secret to her enduring popularity and success?
“Tenacity,” she says with that familiar, friendly laugh, “hanging in there. I think I’ve been really fortunate that people still come (to see her, currently at her long-running Vegas show at the Flamingo Casino). There are so many artists now and so many performers, and whether they will still be around in 20 years will be interesting to watch".
“The fact I’m still here 40-50 years since I started — really, I’m very grateful. I don’t know that there is any secret other than that I think I’ve worked hard and I’ve worked a lot, on and off.”
