OLIVIA NEWTONJOHN JUST THE TWO OF US: THE DUETS COLLECTION (VOL. 2) ★★★★★

RELEASED: October 6 Primary Wave FORMATS: CD, Standard Black Vinyl

The second instalment of the ongoing duets series from Olivia Newton-John continues with 11 additional recordings from the late performer, featuring a selection of her friends and colleagues.

While Vol. 1 - released back in May - boasted a double-disc, 32 song offering, its follow-up contains just 11 recordings, two of which are previously-unreleased: I’m Counting On You with Johnny O’Keefe and

I Will Be Right Here with David Campbell. ( NOOOO they are not unreleased !! )

Other collaborations include the Burt Bacharach-penned Wishin’ and Hopin’ with Dionne Warwick, Everybody’s Someone with Cliff Richard, and Getting Better All The Time with Marie Osmond.

Meanwhile, the Dave Audé produced bonus track, You Have To Believe (We Are Magic) with Olivia’s daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, closes the record on a euphoric dance floor high.

A fine collection, there’s nothing wrong with the tracks on offer here, but the imbalance between the overloaded first edition and its streamlined follow-up makes for something of an underwhelming package that feels just a little undercooked.
