The ailing “Grease” star is suffering emotionally, said sources
TRAGIC songbird Olivia Newton-John is spiraling into dark depression and suffering pangs of anxiety since being blindsided by a third devastating cancer diagnosis! A source exclusively told The National ENQUIRER the 70-yearold “Grease” star — who’s been fighting Stage 4 breast cancer — is suffering from sleepless nights, panic attacks and relentless emotional torment “because she never knows whether any day might be her last!”
Olivia’s nightmare began in 1992, when she found a lump in her right breast and had a modified radical mastectomy. But the dreaded disease returned in 2013 and spread to her shoulder — and then to the bones in her back two years ago.
“Stage 4 cancer is not curable, and the long-term survival rate is less than 10 percent,” noted longevity expert Dr. Gabe Mirkin, who has not treated Olivia.
Though she’s put on a brave face, insiders said the singer is crumbling behind the scenes. “She has had some black days where she feels overcome by hopelessness,” a source dished.
Mental health expert Dr. Gilda Carle, who has not treated Olivia, told The ENQUIRER such feelings are not surprising among patients experiencing multiple bouts of the disease and said, “You naturally begin to worry you’re not going to make it. It’s very depressing and scary!”
