COUPURE DE PRESSE

Olivia Newton-John was reluctant to lend her name to a cancer research centre in her hometown in Melbourne. The 68-year-old singer and actress overcame breast cancer in the 1990s and opened the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre in the Australian city three years ago.
“I wasn’t sure whether I wanted to get behind having a building with my name on it,” admits the Grease star. “It was all very overwhelming. And I asked my mother and she said, ‘Listen darling, if you can help somebody, then you should do it’. That was just the most important, basic and obvious answer… I’ll do it.”
Olivia lends more than her moniker to the cause. She donated a portion of the proceeds from every ticket to her three-year Summer Nights Las Vegas residency (which ended in December) to the centre.

Olivia Newton-John delivered a sensational performance this past Friday night (April 7, 2017)) inside the Grand Event Center of the Golden Nugget Casino in Lake Charles, La. in front of a capacity crowd. The show featured a variety of music from her pop career, such as “Magic,” “Physical,” and “Make a Move on Me,” as well as country tracks “Please Mr. Please,” “Jolene,” and “Let Me Be There,” and, of course, classics from the hit movie “Grease” such as “You’re the One That I Want,” “Hopelessly Devoted,” and crowd sing-along “Summer Nights.”
