Inside Olivia Newton-John's Inspiring New Project to Help Cancer Patients

  .
Olivia Newton-John is asking fans to join her in helping cancer patients have hope.
The singer, who battled breast cancer in the early '90s, is releasing the song, "LIV ON," as part of an 11-song collection featured in a new movement for the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness & Research Centre.

"As a group, it's our intention with this album to create songs with a message of compassion and hope," said Newton-John, 68.
"They are for anyone facing a time of challenge in their life, whether it is grieving a loss or on the journey to health and recovery." "I'm so lucky to be here, and I treasure every moment of it," Newton-John told PEOPLE after beating cancer.
"I don't take anything for granted." Newton-John is also urging others to share their "LIV ON journey" to create a community of care for those impacted by cancer.

"It's my dream to see the end of cancer in my lifetime," she says. The inspiring project is a collaborative effort from Newton-John, Beth Nielsen Chapman and Amy Sky. The album will be available digitally on Oct. 7 and on CD on Oct. 14.
