"Mariah était adorable, incroyable et hilarante, elle avait une personne spécifique pour la suivre avec une serviette de table afin que lorsqu’elle était assise dans sa petite robe courte, elle était modestement protégée. Je jure que c’est vrai, Olivia et moi avons ri d’incrédulité "..... ( et moi j'ai bien vu MC en mode promo à Paris avoir une assistante qui lui tenait la paille de son soda !! sans doute pour ne pas se casser un ongle !)

We shared a love & a happiness I didn’t think was possible..

Hubby’s tribute to Grease star Olivia

ENDURING MEMORIES Hubby John Easterling and Olivia Newtonjohn, in an image she shared days before her death

THE grieving husband of Dame Olivia Newton-john has told how every day with her was a “bit of magic”.

John Easterling said the Grease star was “the most courageous and compassionate woman” he had ever met.

The US businessman, who was with the four-time Grammy winner when she died of cancer at 73 last August, reflected on her loss at an event on Saturday.

He told an audience in Los Angeles, which included singer Katy Perry and model Miranda Kerr:

“We shared a love and a happiness on an order of magnitude that I didn’t even think was possible.

“Olivia and I unexpectedly, madly, deeply, forever fell in love in the Amazon rainforest.

“For the past 15 years, I’ve been blessed to share the depth and the passion of her AUDIENCE being.” He added: “Every day with Olivia was a bit of magic. Every day with Olivia was supernatural.

“She was the most courageous and compassionate woman that I’ve ever known, with a calming capacity to genuinely care about other people.”

Olivia, who grew up in Melbourne, was being honoured at the annual G’day USA Gala, which celebrates Australian excellence. Easterling told how she gave her name to cancer research centres both in Australia and the US.

He said: “There’s an old adage that like attracts like, and Olivia knew that her voice and her huge profile of talents were a gift. Her legacy continues as a joyful, healing spirit who is continuously focused on moving things, in her words, ‘into the love and the light.’”

Olivia married Easterling in June 2008. She was previously married to ex-dancer Matt Lattanzi, 63, with whom she had her only child, Chloe, who told the event she planned to “honour my mum’s mission and keep her dream alive”.

Olivia was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992, and worked to increase awareness, as well as promote natural medicines. Chloe, 37, added: “She was curious and intuitive, and knew the power of plant medicine and ancient wisdom we have within us all. She was powerful.”

Crocodile Dundee star Paul Hogan, 83, told how he met Olivia, who went on to become a “great friend”. He said: “We were doing a command performance at the Sydney Opera House. We were backstage and Livvy came over to me and said ‘have you had make-up yet?’ And I said, ‘oh, no. I don’t need it’. I was just doing a funny bit.

“She said, ‘sit down’ and took out an eyebrow pencil and gave me eyebrows because mine were all bleached out from the sun. She tried to do a few other pretty things too, but I didn’t let her.”

Olivia found fame in the 1970s as Sandy in the hit movie Grease and had top 10 hits including Physical.

Every day with Olivia was a bit of magic. Every day with Olivia was supernatural

G’Day USA Arts Gala

‘I’ll Always Be an Aussie’: G’Day USA Arts Gala Hails Sam Worthington, The Kid Laroi, Miranda Kerr and Pays Tribute to Olivia Newton-John !

The evening  featured an emotional tribute to Olivia Newton-John, the Australian singer-actor who died in August at age 73 after a battle with breast cancer.

“Every day with Olivia was supernatural,” said Paul Hogan, the veteran Australian comedian and performer, recounting his first meeting with Newton-John at a TV taping at the Sydney Opera House in the 1980s. He also remembered his last time working with when her, when he asked her to shoot a cameo for him as a favor. He couldn’t help but notice how much she struggled to move. But as he helped her around, she made a point of telling him to think about adjusting the scene to allow a group of extras to work inside rather than outside in the Australian winter chill.

“The kid was in pain but she was worried about the extras getting cold,” Hogan said. “She was the nicest person you’d ever want to meet.” Newton-John’s husband, John Easterling, and daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, were on hand for a musical tribute featuring a medley of the “Grease” and “Xanadu” star’s biggest hits, performed by Aussie musician Delta Goodrem.

Olivia Newton-John's grieving husband John Easterling pays emotional tribute to late wife at gala: 'She was the most courageous and compassionate woman'

It's now been more than five months since Olivia Newton-John passed away at the age of 73 after being diagnosed with cancer three times.

And on Saturday night, John Easterling called his late wife 'the most courageous and compassionate woman' he had ever met during an emotional tribute to the singer, actress and singer and activist at the 20th anniversary G'Day USA Arts Gala in Los Angeles, according to The Mirror.

The event, which was also attended by Newton-John's daughter Chloe Lattanzi,  included a musical tribute featuring a medley of the Grease and Xanadu star's biggest hits, performed by Aussie musician Delta Goodrem, according to Variety.

It was during that tribute that Easterling, 70, opened up and shared about the love story he and Newton-John shared in their lifetimes.

'Olivia and I unexpectedly, madly, deeply, forever fell in love in the Amazon rainforest,' he revealed to the riveted crowd.

While reflecting on her life and their relationship during the tribute, Easterling revealed that his late wife gave her time, name and effort to cancer research centers in both Australia and the United States.

'There's an old adage that like attracts like, and Olivia knew that her voice and her huge profile of talents were a gift,' the Jupiter, Florida native said, before adding, 'Her legacy continues as a joyful, healing spirit who is continuously focused on moving things, in her words, "into the love and the light."'

The grieving businessman would also describe her as having 'a calming capacity to genuinely care about other people.'

Delta Goodrem impresses A-listers with her tribute to Olivia Newton-John

From first meeting Olivia Newton-John in New York when she was just seven years old, to portraying the Grease star in a biopic, it's fair to say that ONJ has made a lasting impact on Delta Goodrem.
And now, almost six months on from the passing of Olivia, aged 73, Delta has been able to pay tribute to her self-confessed hero the best way she knows how - by singing.
Last night at the annual G'Day USA Gala in Los Angeles, hosted by the American Australian Association, Delta took to the stage for a special tribute to her idol.
The awards night celebrates Australians who are prominent in the U.S. entertainment industry, and works to highlight figures from film, television, music and pop culture who have enhanced Hollywood-Australia relations.
A melody of Olivia Newton-John's greatest hits was performed by Delta Goodrem, with Olivia's husband, John Easterling, and daughter, Chloe Lattanzi, on hand for the musical tribute.
Sam Worthington, Miranda Kerr and Paul Hogan were other notable Australian celebrities at the event, whilst American pop-star Katy Perry also attended and posted a clip of Delta's performance to her Instagram stories.
Hogan also paid tribute to ONJ, saying that "every day with Olivia was supernatural".
Speaking about ONJ following her death August 2022, Delta told Sunrise about the special first moment that the two songstresses met.
"All of a sudden Sandy from Grease walks in the door… the world stopped and I said, 'Sandy's there mum. It's Sandy!'," Goodrem recalled on Sunrise.
Olivia heard the accent and struck up a conversation, even telling Delta she hoped to see her tomorrow.
"I was looking for her always," Delta said of the moment, though she couldn't have known how close they'd become.

G’day Celebrates With U.S. Mates

Aussie org fetes 20 years of cultural and economic partnership

G’day USA, an American-based cultural and economic diplomacy program fostering creative and entrepreneurial partnerships between artists in Australia and the United States, will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Jan. 28 with a starry gala at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

John Berry, president of the American Australian Assn. and retired U.S. ambassador to Australia under President Barack Obama, calls G’day USA “Australia’s premier public, economic and cultural diplomacy program in the United States.”

“Launched by the Australian government 20 years ago, G’day USA has deepened the relationship between two great allies and showcased Australia’s creative and innovative economy by bringing together the best of government, business and non-profit sectors,” Berry says. “The highlight of course is the annual G’day USA Arts Gala in Los Angeles that honors the very best of Australian talent.”

Funds raised at the G’day USA Arts Gala support scholarships from the American Australian Assn. to emerging artists studying in each other’s country, with a special emphasis on Native American and Indigenous artists. Per Erin Gray, senior VP business engagement, partnerships & development at the American Australian Assn., $1.6 million in scholarships was awarded by the org just in 2022, and over the past 20 years, more than 570 scholarships have been given out.

R&B singer Mi-kaisha, a recipient of the 2019 American Australian Assn. Indigenous arts scholarship, will perform at this year’s fete, along with Australian musical artist G Flip. Additionally, the gala will honor three prominent Australian artists: Sydney-born supermodel-entrepreneur Miranda Kerr, honored with the Excellence in the Arts award; “Avatar: The Way of Water” star Sam Worthington, who will receive the Excellence in Film & Television award; and 19-year-old rapper the Kid Laroi, who will be honored with the award for Excellence in Music.

Aussie singer-songwriter Delta Goodrem will top off the evening with a special tribute to legendary Grammy-winner Olivia Newton-john, who passed away in August after a lengthy battle with breast cancer.

“From the very beginning, she was involved with the program,” says Berry. “We honored her, but she would regularly come and she would regularly perform, even if she wasn’t being honored. And she would always be so gracious to whoever was winning that year. She was just such a bright light in the room.”

But while Australia has made vast contributions to the entertainment world — from Nicolas Roeg’s groundbreaking 1971 film “Walkabout” to the 1994 comedy juggernaut “Muriel’s Wedding” — the G’day gala is more than a celebration of performing talent.

Per Graeme Mason, CEO of Screen Australia, the event is “a wonderful opportunity to showcase just how much Australia has to offer both on and off screen.”

“Australia and the U.S. have long had an extremely successful cultural, creative and commercial relationship & collaboration,” adds Mason. “We’re committed to deepening the creative and cultural connection with our American colleagues and fostering this valuable partnership for the future and see G’day as a great part of that.”

It was during his tenure as ambassador and throughout the course of his current position that Berry has come to “appreciate just how profound the relationship is” between Australia and the United States — culturally and politically.

“There’s only one ally who has fought with [the United States] in every major military engagement since World War I — and that’s Australia,” Berry says. “It is an alliance of values. It is an alliance that’s been sealed in blood. And it is an alliance that is vibrant today, in its economic engagement as well, in that America is the largest investor in Australia, with over $2 trillion of economic activity between the two nations.”
