A pink High Roller

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month in October, Flamingo Las Vegas headliner and breast cancer survivor Olivia Newton-John will ceremoniously light the High Roller pink with the Chippendales and Breast Cancer “Thrivers” on Oct. 6.

The High Roller, the world’s tallest observation wheel, at The LINQ promenade, along with Newton John is also inviting fellow breast cancer survivors, who she refers to as “thrivers,” and guests wearing pink to ride the High Roller for free from 6 to 8 p.m.

Newton John is currently performing her “Summer Nights” residency at Flamingo Las Vegas, where a portion of every ticket sold is given back to the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre. In 1992, Newton John was diagnosed with breast cancer. Since going into remission, she has partnered with the Austin Health and the creation of the Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Centre in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia. After nearly ten years of fundraising close to $200 million, the ONJCWC opened its doors in 2012. The ONJCWC provides a comprehensive range of services and facilities for cancer treatment, education, training and research as well as a dedicated wellness center.

The High Roller will donate $1 from every ticket sold on Oct. 6 to the ONJCWC. In addition, The LINQ Promenade retail shops will also participate in special “pink offers” throughout the month of October and all the coins collected from The LINQ Fountain will be donated to the ONJCWC.

The Chippendales, who appear at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, will be donning special pink cuffs and collars. The dancing troupe, the only male striptease show in Las Vegas, has a permanent residency in its custom-designed theater and lounge.

On Monday, Newton-John, the Chippendales and breast cancer thrivers at The LINQ Fountain Stage at 6 p.m. with the actual lighting at 6:16 p.m. Breast cancer survivors and guests wearing pink can ride the High Roller for free from 6 to 8 p.m. The LINQ is located at 3545 Las Vegas Blvd. S.
